Our Church School
Our School Vision is:
Achieving and Flourishing in our Christian Community
Collaton St Mary is a Church of England Voluntary Aided School and a member of
the Diocese of Exeter. We are an inclusive school and serve equally those of all
faiths. We take pride in the community that we serve and have strong links with the
Church of St Mary – Collaton.
We deliver our vision exploring our character gateways, which permeate all
aspects of our school life. Our character gateways enable the whole child to flourish - both
spiritually and in terms of maximising potential in learning.

Flourishing
We study Christ as an example of these gateways in action within Collective Worship
and other moments within the school day. Our Character Gateways underpin our relationships with one another, and our curriculum too. Our children love talking about our gateways and what these mean to them. Our pupils have the opportunity to attend, and be part of, church and school services throughout the year. If you would like to come and join us at any of our Services in school or in church do look out for our regular updates on our Monthly newsletters. Everyone is welcome!
In line with the Church of England's role as the established Church, our vision is for the common good of the whole community.
Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.
Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.
Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.
Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.
We work closely with the Church of Collaton St Mary which is conveniently located across the road. Strong links are held between the staff of Collaton St Mary Primary School and Reverend Gary Deighton, who regularly builds time into his day to visit the children.
We also have strong links with Bay Church who lead one of our school worships once a half term. They invite our pupils to their church events and help donate food bags for our disadvantaged families.

We continue to be an OUTSTANDING Church School!
Our last statutory Church school inspection was OUTSTANDING and we continued to keep this standard from the previous inspection five years prior - despite the grade being far more difficult to achieve than in previous inspection frameworks.
Please see the links below for full inspection reports.
